Red Flare Tropical Water Lily

This night blooming lily produces magnificent deep red vermillion 7" - 10" wide flowers on tall stems above the water. The large deep red/bronze pads add to the beauty of this lily and add a new accent to your pond. The undersides are heavily veined and like all of the night blooming Tropicals, it is a fast growing, wide spreading show-off. Tropical lilies grow at an astonishing rate. They can go from a sprout to a five foot wide flowering spead in 3-4 months time. They are heavy consumers of food to get their growth energy, so remember to pot and feed them well.

Its sweet smell will drift on the night breezes. It opens in the evening and stays open thru-out the night into the early morning when the sun warms the air.
Requirements: Tropicals need warm water.
In general, use 70F degrees as an absolute minimum water temperature for planting to avoid the tuber loosing all of it's pads and falling into dormancy. It's better to wait a couple of weeks until your water is warmer than to take a chance on planting early and then loosing the plant.
